Write a recruiter summary hiring managers will actually read

Hiring managers do not want your adjectives. They want to know if this person can do the job, what is missing, and when they can start. A recruiter summary that restates the resume is ignored. A summary that answers those three questions gets a reply.
The 30-second shape
- Who — current title, years that match the dates, city or timezone.
- Why they fit — two must-haves with evidence from recent roles.
- The gap — one sentence, not a cover-up.
- Logistics — notice, rate or salary band if you have it, visa, onsite.
Example: “Priya is a Dallas-based backend engineer, 8.2 years. Last two roles are Spring Boot and Kafka on AWS. No recent Kubernetes — she used it in 2021. 3-week notice, H-1B, hybrid OK.” That is enough for a yes, a no, or a “send me the packet.”
Write it after you match, not before
Run JD + Resume Match first so the pitch is grounded in evidence. Recruiter Summary turns that into a 30-second note you can paste into email or the VMS. If you have two people, write two summaries and compare — do not send a blur of three names.
