How to match a resume to a job description before you submit

Submittal volume is not the same as interview volume. The fastest way to waste an account manager’s credibility is a resume that misses a must-have the JD stated twice.

Read the JD as a recruiter, not as a keyword dump

Separate must-haves from nice-to-haves. Visa, location, clearance, years in a specific stack, and “hands-on with X in the last 2 years” are gates. Soft language (“familiarity with”) is not. JD Analyzer extracts role, must-haves, and keywords so you are not matching against a wall of text.

Demand evidence, not a skill-list overlap

A skill section that lists Kubernetes is not the same as a bullet that shows cluster upgrades in production. When you match, look for the skill in a recent role with a verb and an outcome. JD + Resume Match scores the pair and surfaces evidence and gaps so you can decide — submit, coach the candidate, or pass.

If you have two or three people for the same req, Compare Candidates puts the matrix side by side. That is faster than three highlighter passes and easier to defend on the account call.

Disclose gaps before the HM finds them

A missing cloud certification or a 14-month contract gap will come up. Put it in the recruiter summary in one sentence. Hiding it does not increase the interview rate; it increases the reject-after-screen rate.
